Justin Payette joined West Virginia University Athletics as the coordinator of PT/Rehab Services in July 2026.
Payette enters this role with more than 15 years of experience treating athletes from the college to professional level. He has been a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy since 2011 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2009 through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In addition to this role, Justin also serves as an assistant professor in WVU’s Division of Physical Therapy in the School of Medicine, and is the director of the accredited WVU Sports Division 1 PT Fellowship.
Payette, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, earned a B.S. in biology from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, where he also lettered four years and received All-American honors in football. He went on to receive his Doctorate in physical therapy from Marquette University, and then completed his sports physical therapy residency training at St. Francis University.
Payette and his wife, Morgan, now reside in Morgantown with their four children, Parker, Cole, Evalena, and Clay.
