Claire Ettinger joined West Virginia University Athletics as an academic counselor/learning specialist in July 2026. Ettinger works primarily with the golf and wrestling programs.
Before joining WVU, Ettinger worked as a graduate assistant for student-athlete support services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She provided student-athletes with personalized academic support through academic planning, tutoring and skill-building in organization, time management and performance strategies.
Ettinger also worked with College Directions, Inc. as a college access counselor for nearly five years. In this position, she provided academic, college and financial aid counseling to low-income and first-generation students while collaborating with high schools, colleges and community organizations.
Ettinger earned a B.S. in sport management from Towson University and an M.Ed. in higher education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
