Alex Crone

Alex Crone joined WVU Athletics as a student assistant coach with the WVU swimming and diving program in August 2025.
With WVU, Crone helps coordinate team operations, including practice planning, facility maintenance and coaching. He also assists in recruiting for the program and helps collect and analyze data to provide student-athletes with feedback.
Prior to joining the Mountaineers, Crone was the head age and interim coach at Race Aquatics in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He increased state-level qualifiers within the age group program from one to nine athletes in two seasons. He also led daily operations, practice design and scheduling throughout his time with Race Aquatics.
Crone holds two certifications from USA Swimming and the American Swim Coaches Association. He is pursuing a B.S. in coaching and performance from West Virginia University.
