Alec Dominguez joined the West Virginia Athletics Department in September of 2021 as a Name, Image, and Likeness Coordinator. In his role, he will assist with the implementation and administration of the NIL program for WVU student-athletes in providing education and training to our student-athletes using various NIL platforms
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native, recently completed a career at Florida International University (FIU) as a cross country and track and field athlete. He completed his bachelor's and master’s degrees in sports management. At FIU, Dominguez was an intern within the athletics department. He created programming for student-athletes. His emphasis was on leadership development, professional development, community outreach, diversity and inclusion, financial education and character development.
Additionally, Dominguez is an advocate for giving student-athletes a voice. He currently serves on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Along with serving on Division I SAAC, Dominguez was selected to serve on the Division 1 Competition Oversight Committee which has oversight responsibility of regular season and championships administration in Division I. As a member of this committee, Dominguez plays a large role in chairing the Strategic Vision and Planning Subcommittee.
While in graduate school, Dominguez worked as an athletic director for St. Bonaventure School and taught a sports leadership class.
Alec currently resides in Morgantown and enjoys running, golf, and watching sports.
