Aaron Ryan transitioned into full-time status as a ticket assistant in June 2021 after previously spending the last two years as a ticket associate within WVU’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Prior to joining the Mountaineer family, Ryan spent 10 years at Shepherd University as the assistant athletic director of external affairs. His responsibilities included managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, coordinating development activities for all athletic programs, planning and implementing the overall development strategy, preparing written materials for external operations, overseeing social media, marketing & promotions, game day operations, and ticket operations, and serving as the university’s baseball team administrator.
He also assumed the role of chairman for the university’s Athletic Hall of Fame (2012-2018) and on the search committee for the next head women’s basketball coach (2014), while serving as the Mountain East Conference’s representative for the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (2013-2015) during his time at Shepherd.
The Morgantown, West Virginia, native received his bachelor’s degree from WVU (1996) where he is currently in the process of completing his master’s degree in integrated marketing and communications.
