AJ Garcia has been on the Mountaineers Athletics training staff since 2020. His duties involve the care, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic injuries for the football program. He also assists in the supervision of the training room and provides clinical instruction in the athletics training program.
Garcia came to West Virginia after serving for three years as the assistant athletic trainer for the football program at Toledo.
A 2015 graduate of the University of Miami, Garcia interned at NFL training camps with Tampa Bay (2013) and Miami (2014). He was a graduate assistant with the University of South Carolina, where he earned his master’s degree in 2017. He also worked at Mid-Carolina High School in 2016-17. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
Garcia was born in Edison, New Jersey, and grew up in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
