Lauren Griffin joined West Virginia University’s athletic training staff in the summer of 2019 and currently serves as the Olympic Sports physical therapist, as well as the athletic trainer for the Mountaineer women's soccer program.
Griffin’s responsibilities include day-to-day care, rehabilitation and injury prevention.
She arrived at WVU after serving as the student physical therapist at the WME IMG Academy. During her time with IMG, Griffin worked with elite athletes, helping them recover from injuries and return to play. She also worked as the assistant athletic trainer before becoming a student physical therapist.
Prior to her work at WME IMG Academy, Griffin worked at the Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was the outsource athletic trainer at Mandarin High School from 2016-18.
Griffin’s background also includes extensive work in athletic training with various programs across the state of Florida from 2014-16. She has served as a student athletic trainer at Ave Maria University, Gulf Coast High School and Palmetto Ridge High School, covering a wide variety of sports at each institution.
Griffin received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Florida Gulf Coast University in May of 2016, and she recently completed her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of North Florida.
A native of Clearwater, Florida, Griffin currently resides in Morgantown.
