Aileen Convery is one of the most celebrated swimmers in the history of the West Virginia University swimming and diving program.
Convery was an All-American in 1989 and 1990 and a multi-time Academic All-American during her WVU career. During her junior season, Convery placed first at Easterns in the 100-yard backstroke and won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.35, earning All-America honors in the 200 backstroke for the second consecutive year.
In the 1988-89 season, Convery was dominant as she was the Eastern champion in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.
In her freshman season, Convery represented Ireland at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, placing 18
th in her event. She also set a program record in the 200 back (2:01.95) and was part of the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams that set program records during the 1987-88 season.
She was an NCAA qualifier in the 100 and 200 backstroke after placing first in the 100 backstroke event at the conference championships.
Before her collegiate career, Convery was a member of the Irish national swim team beginning in 1984 and was named the Leinster Swimmer of the Year in 1987. At the time, Convery held three Irish senior records in the 100 back, 200 back and 200-yard individual medley.
Convery majored in Physical Therapy while at West Virginia.
Ivan Puskovitch

Represented the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris
Puskovitch joined the West Virginia University swimming and diving program in January 2024 and made an immediate impact.
He became just the second Mountaineer to qualify for the Olympics and the first male from the WVU program to qualify. He qualified for the Olympics after placing 14
th in the men's 10 km (1:48:54.40) event at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar.At the time, Puskovitch was only the fifth American male in history to qualify for the Olympics in open water swimming since the event was added in 2008.
At the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, Puskovitch set program records in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:15.34) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:08.91) in one event. He placed second in the 1650 freestyle and the 400-yard individual medley (3:47.61). With those finishes, Puskovitch was named First Team All-Big 12.He also placed first in the B final of the 500-yard freestyle (4:22.83) at the conference championships.
In his first appearance as a Mountaineer, he won two individual events against Pitt (500-yard freestyle (4:33.52) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:20.20)).
Before transferring to West Virginia, Puskovitch spent three seasons at USC. At the Pac-12 Championships, he placed 13th in the 1650-yard freestyle (15:18.47), 18th in the 500-yard freestyle (4:25.04/4:21.53) and 19th in the 400-yard IM (3:53.61/3:50.10).
He also was named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Second Team Scholar All-American and a member of the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sports Media Studies.
