Aircraft & Drone Policy
- The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics asks that you please adhere to FAA policies, per the NOTAM document concerning flight restrictions, for sporting events. No flight operation may take place within three nautical miles, nor up to 3,000 feet around the perimeter of the Hope Coliseum, from one hour prior to the start of the event until one hour after its completion. These restrictions also apply to all unmanned or remote controlled drone aircrafts. Failure to comply with these restrictions will result in the appropriate legal response from law enforcement officials.
Alcohol
- Alcoholic beverages and any hard containers (glass bottles/metal cans) may not be brought into the Hope Coliseum. Beer, wine, and malt beverages are available for purchase along the concourse and in the Coliseum Club during men's basketball games. Alcohol sales conclude at the beginning of the second half.
- For more information on tickets to the Coliseum Club, please contact the Mountaineer Athletic Office at 304-293-2294.
Animals
- Only service animals assisting guests with disabilities are permitted.
ATMs
- A United Bank automatic teller machine is located along the concourse adjacent to the Country Roads Gate.
Autographs
- There is no organized location for autographs unless otherwise advertised.
Baby Changing Stations
- Baby changing stations are available in all men's, women’s and all-gender concourse restrooms.
Banners and Signs
- Banners and signs, except those associated with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, are not permitted at Hope Coliseum.
Cameras
- Cameras are permitted. Tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited.
Charging Stations
- Mobile phone charging stations are located at the Country Roads Gate.
Children's Admission
- All persons, including children and infants, must have a barcoded ticket for admission.
Clear Bag Policy
- See 'Clear Bag Policy'
- Fans are asked to reduce what they bring to Hope Coliseum this season to minimize contact points and bag searches. When security personnel check bags at the gate, they will not be divesting the bags – each fan will be responsible for showing the contents of his/her individual bag. This includes fans removing all items from their bag for inspection as needed. For quicker entry, do not bring bags inside Hope Coliseum .
Closed Captioning
- Closed Captioning will be provided at all home WVU basketball games. For use and access, please follow this link or scan the QR code shown on the video board before and throughout the game to view directly on your phone.

Concessions
- Concessions are located throughout the concourse. All concession stands and carts are cashless and accept the four major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).
Coolers and Containers
- No coolers (including soft-sided coolers) or metal or glass containers are allowed in Hope Coliseum. Soft drinks, water, and non-alcoholic beverages in factory-sealed plastic containers are permitted.
Credentials
- Each credential indicates the areas of Hope Coliseum in which it will be honored. Credentials must be worn at all times.
Disability and Accessibility Information
Elevators
- An elevator is located on the concourse at the Country Roads Gate and may be used by guests to access different areas of Hope Coliseum. All guests must have proper credentials and/or tickets.
All-Gender Restroom
- An all-gender restroom, equipped with a baby changing station and an electrical outlet for nursing mothers, is located, adjacent to each gate.

- Please text WVU to 83200 for Hope Coliseum assistance. Text STOP to cancel. Text HELP for help. Msg & Data rates may apply. We will not share your information. This program will only be used to communicate messages from West Virginia University Athletics.
- Texting service will be available one and half hours prior to kickoff and conclude 30 minutes post game.

First Aid
- A first aid station is located on the concourse adjacent to the Gold Gate/Ticket Office. Contact an event staff member or police for assistance.
Food Allergies
- Please be advised that food prepared here may contain the following ingredients: milk, eggs, wheat, soybean, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish.
Guest Services
- Guest Services is located on the concourse adjacent to the Gold Gate/ticket office and handles lost and found, lost children, emergencies and general ticket information. Fans may also report problems or make suggestions on a special form available from the attendant.
Hall of Traditions
- The Basketball Practice Facility Robinson/Petroplus Hall of Traditions is located in the Hope Coliseum Athletic Complex. The Robinson/Petroplus Hall of Traditions is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. and during home men’s and women’s basketball games starting two hours prior to tip-off and closing at tip-off.
THE HIGH 5 Rules of the Game
- Follow THE HIGH 5 rules to make game day a great day for everyone.- No excessive drinking – intoxicated fans are not allowed inside or outside Hope Coliseum.
- No foul or abusive language.
- No smoking in the seating or concourse areas.
- No throwing stuff (anything) onto the court.
- No ignoring of the instructions of Event/Security personnel.
Lost and Found
- Lost and found is maintained during the game at Guest Services, located on the concourse adjacent to the Gold Gate/Ticket Office. All unclaimed items will be available at the Rhino Sports and Entertainment office inside Hope Coliseum (304-782-6644) the following business day.
Lost Children
- In case of a lost child, please contact Guest Services, located on the concourse adjacent to the Gold Gate/ticket office, or contact an event staff member or police for assistance.
Merchandise
- The Team Shop is located adjacent to the Blue Gate. The Team Shop is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and during home events.
Nursing Mothers
- An all-gender restroom is located adjacent to each gate. These areas are equipped with a chair and an electrical outlet for nursing mothers.
- The WVU Nursing Pod is located at the Mountaineer Gate for nursing mothers. Information and how to access the pod is found here.
Parking
Prohibited Items
- To ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of our guests, the following items may not be brought into the Hope Coliseum: coolers, laser pointers, alcoholic beverages, artificial noisemakers, aerosol and spray cans, mace and pepper sprays, selfie sticks, weapons, and any other items determined to be harmful or disruptive. See our clear bag policy information. A 'size-wise' box is available at each gate and guest services location to determine if a bag is permitted.
Restrooms
- Restrooms are located along the concourse and all restrooms are ADA accessible.
- Baby changing stations are available in all men and women’s concourse restrooms.
- Additional accessible restrooms are located on the event level, adjacent to both sides of section C12 and in the Coliseum Club.
Scalping/Resale of Tickets
- The scalping of tickets on University property is forbidden. Violators are subject to removal from University property. No solicitation of any kind is permitted in the parking lots or Hope Coliseum. Individuals discovered soliciting will be asked to cease or will be removed.
Scoreboard Messages
- Scoreboard messages are available by contacting our Marketing Office at 304-293-3086. The deadline for such requests are Wednesday prior to each home game.
Security Screening
- All patrons of Hope Coliseum will be subjected to a security screening upon entry via walkthrough metal detectors. Guests will not need to remove items such as phones, keys, or wallets from their pockets and will carry any bags (following the guidelines of the Clear Bag Policy) through the detectors. Guests are encouraged to arrive to Hope Coliseum early to avoid delays. Please proceed through the detectors one at a time, at a normal pace.
- If you need additional screening, an event staff member will direct you to a secondary screening area using a handheld metal detector wand.
- The walkthrough metal detectors are not wheelchair accessible. Anyone who is unable to pass through the metal detector will be directed to the secondary screening area using an accessible entrance at the Country Roads Gate.
Shuttle Service
- The WVU Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) will operate according to University schedule. Stations are located on Walnut Street, Beechurst Avenue, Engineering Sciences Building, Evansdale Residential Complex (Towers), and the Health Sciences Center. This service is free for WVU students and $.50 one way for non-students. The PRT is not ADA compliant at this time.
Smoking Policy
- Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is not permitted in the seating areas, aisles, concourses or restrooms at Hope Coliseum. Fans may smoke only in designated smoking areas.

Solicitation
- Selling of any items by anyone other than authorized WVU personnel or designated vending personnel in or around Hope Coliseum and the parking areas is prohibited.
Student Entry
- All WVU students should enter through the Mountaineer Gate for men's basketball games and the Gold Gate for women's basketball games.
Ticket Information
- All seating is reserved for men’s basketball games.
- Sections 107, 108, 109, C1, C2, C3, C4, C6, and C12 are reserved for women’s basketball games. All remaining sections are general admission seating.
- The ticket office is located at the Gold Gate at Hope Coliseum. Game day sales are available at the Gold Gate ticket window once gates open. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
- WVU is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced tickets. There are no refunds or exchanges.
Will Call
- The will call window is located at the Gold Gate for men's and women's basketball games and opens two hours before tip off for men's basketball games and one hour before tip off for women's basketball games. A photo ID is required.
- WVU Player Guest will call is located at the Country Roads Gate for men's and women's basketball games and opens one and a half hours before tip off for men's basketball games and one hour before tip off for women's basketball games. A photo ID is required.
