In June 2025, WVU Athletics announced the launch of Gold & Blue Enterprises — our in-house team built to create new revenue streams, strengthen the WVU brand, and open bigger, better NIL opportunities for our student-athletes. Now, GBE is taking another big step forward. In partnership with the Mountaineer Athletic Club, it's launching the Championship Resource Fund. And as part of this move, all memberships from the Country Roads Trust will transition into this new fund to supercharge support for Mountaineer student-athletes.
Here's what's happening: all CRT memberships will now transition into the newly established Championship Resource Fund, an initiative designed to fuel WVU's innovative revenue-sharing model and expand NIL opportunities through Gold & Blue Enterprises.
If you're wondering what that means for Mountaineer Nation, the answer is simple — more support, more opportunities and more competitive excellence for our student-athletes.
"I hope that all of those who have memberships with the Country Roads Trust will continue their support of WVU student-athletes with contributions to support Gold & Blue Enterprises through the Championship Resource Fund," Oliver Luck, CRT co-founder said. "It is essential that GBE has the resources it needs to help WVU athletes excel on and off the field. By continuing your CRT membership through the Championship Resource Fund, you can and will be a part of the success of Mountaineer athletics."
And here's the best part — when you support the Championship Resource Fund, you're not just helping student-athletes; you're also unlocking more for yourself. MAC membership benefits grow with your giving, meaning CRT members who make the move will enjoy elevated membership status, more priority points and new perks like exclusive content, special events and autographed memorabilia.
"I want to thank the Country Roads Trust for its WVU NIL focused efforts," Vice President and Director of Athletics
Wren Baker said. "I am asking all who have memberships with the Country Roads Trust to continue their support in the future through the Championship Resource Fund which will support GBE initiatives."
Country Roads Trust will still operate independently, focusing on NIL opportunities for Olympic sports with a special emphasis on baseball and women's basketball. They just won't have membership programs anymore, so the Championship Resource Fund will now be the go-to way for fans to directly support NIL for WVU Athletics as a whole.
In the coming weeks, Mountaineer account managers will reach out to current CRT members to walk through the transition and answer questions. If you've never been a CRT member but want to jump in now, it's easy — just call (304) 293-2294 or fill out
this form to set up a meeting.
This is a turning point for WVU Athletics. The rules of college sports are changing fast, and with your help, we're making sure the Mountaineers don't just keep up — we lead. Let's keep building, keep elevating, and keep proving that when Mountaineer Nation rallies together, there's nothing we can't achieve.
