
Golf Completes First Round at National Golf Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team completed 18 holes at the GOLFWEEK National Golf Invitational (NGI) Championship at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona.
Westy McCabe paced the Mountaineers with a 2-under-par round and is tied for 10th place. Harrison Thompson shot 1-under-par and is tied for 17th place. Ryan Leach and Carson Kammann were +1 and are tied for 24th place. Nick Turowski was +3 in the first round.
In the team standings, the Mountaineers shot 1-under-par and are in fifth place in the 10-team field.
The second round will begin Saturday morning with the Mountaineers teeing off at 11:20 a.m. ET.
