
Tait Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After notching a pair of program top-five times at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16 and 18, graduate student Sarah Tait has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Tait secured her first all-time performance of the week on Wednesday in Azusa, California after posting a personal best time of 9:37.62 in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, earning second place. With the time, she ranks No. 9 globally, No. 6 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12 conference in the event.
The graduate student went on to slate herself as No. 3 all-time in the 1,500 meters after taking first place with a career best time of 4:12.66. The time marks her as No. 25 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12.
West Virginia will continue competition at the Penn Relays on April 24 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The relays will be held at Franklin Field and can be viewed live on FloTrack.
This Week in Baseball: West Virginia plays four games this week, beginning with a road game at Penn State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. … the game will air on Big Ten Network … the Mountaineers continue their road trip with a three-game series at UCF, April 25-27 … firs pitch on Friday and Saturday is set for 6 p.m. while Sunday is set for 1 p.m.

This Week in Golf: The golf team will compete in the Big 12 Golf Championship from Tuesday to Thursday in Tulsa, Oklahoma … the Big 12 Championship will be contested at Southern Hills Country Club on the 7,481-yard, par-71 course … the format will consist of a total of 72 holes across three days with 36 holes scheduled on Tuesday, followed by 18 holes each on Wednesday and Thursday … pairings will consist of threesomes with play beginning off both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees each of the four rounds … West Virginia will be paired with Baylor, Cincinnati and UCF will tee off on No. 10 at 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday … round two will begin continuously as round one ends … seniors Todd Duncan and Max Green, juniors Carson Kammann, Westy McCabe and Kaleb Wilson and freshman Ryan Leach (substitute) make up the WVU lineup … Duncan, Green and Wilson will be making their third appearances, while McCabe will make his second appearances … Kammann traveled as a substitute last season.
