MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team lost to Kansas State, 4-2, on Sunday at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
 
West Virginia (6-9, 0-4 Big 12) earned the doubles point following superb play from the pairing of senior Michaela Kucharova and freshman Laura Villanueva Morillo in the No. 2 seed match as they won, 6-2. The Mountaineers locked up the point as senior Mille Haagensen and graduate student Julie Bousseau won in the No. 1 spot, 6-4.
 
In singles play, Kansas State took the first two matches to lead, 2-1. However, West Virginia picked up a much-needed win from Haagensen in the No. 1 spot to tie the match, 2-2.
 
Kansas State won the next two singles matches to seal the win.

 West Virginia hits the road to face Arizona State on Friday, March 14, and Arizona on Sunday, March 16.
