
West Virginia Loses at Home to No. 33 Oklahoma State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team lost to No. 33 Oklahoma State, 4-0, on Friday at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
The loss marked West Virginia's (6-8, 0-3 Big 12) fourth in a row.
In doubles play, the Mountaineers started well as redshirt junior Maja Dodik and freshman Lyla Byers battled in the No. 3 seed match with Oklahoma State's Gracie Epps and Melisa Ercan. Despite falling behind early, the pair rallied to trail, 5-4.
However, Dodik and Byers came up short as they lost, 6-4. Oklahoma State locked up the doubles point as it also won the No. 1 seed match.
Graduate student Julie Bousseau lost in the No. 2 seed match against Oklahoma State's No. 81 Anastasiya Komar, 6-1, 6-2.
The Cowgirls earned another singles point as Kucharova lost in the No. 3 seed match, 6-4, 6-2.
Oklahoma State clinched the match with a victory in the No. 1 seed match.
