
Freshman Leach Wins The Stono

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University freshman golfer Ryan Leach shot 10-under-par to win The Stono at The Links at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, South Carolina on Tuesday.
In the individual tournament, Leach shot 68-65-73=206 for his 10-under score. Leach edged Daniel Boone of Charlotte by one stroke.
Leach, a native of Williamsburg, Virginia, becomes the seventh different WVU golfer and third this year to win a collegiate tournament. It marks the 10th time a WVU golfer has won a collegiate tournament.
In the fall, Kaleb Wilson won the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, while Leach tied for second place. Freshman Nick Turowski won the Red Flash Invitational in the fall.
Hugh Donegan also competed in this event and tied for 19th place with rounds of 74-78-68=220 (+4).
