
Martin Named Big 12 Women's Swimmer of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Gabriela Martin of the West Virginia University women's swimming and diving team has been named the Big 12 Women's Swimmer of the Week for her performance against Delaware.
Martin earned the honor for the first time in her career as she won the women's 100-yard freestyle (50.66) and placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.84) against Delaware.
Martin was also part of the relay team that placed second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:26.55).
She is the second women's swimmer to earn a Big 12 weekly award this season, as freshman Macey Larson was named Co-Newcomer of the Week earlier this year.
West Virginia returns to the pool against Loyola (Md.) on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
