MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team lost to Michigan State, 6-1, on Sunday at the MSU Tennis Center in East Lansing, Michigan.


 
West Virginia's (2-2) struggles continued against the Spartans after losing to Xavier on Saturday. After not earning the doubles point, only one Mountaineer won a singles match.
 
Senior Michaela Kucharova beat Michigan State's Ellie Blackford in the No. 2 seed match, 6-4, 6-1. Kucharova finished 2-0 in singles play over the weekend.
 
West Virginia will face VCU in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 1, and William and Mary on Sunday, Feb. 2, in Williamsburg, Va.
