West Virginia in Third After Day Two of NCAA Regional

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – The West Virginia University golf team moved up two spots to sit in third place after the second round of competition at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California, on Tuesday.
Led by junior Max Green's 1-under, 69 in the second round, WVU recorded an Even-par 280 on the par-70, 6,962-yard course. West Virginia's two-round total of +5 (565) is good for a tie for third place and is just two strokes back from No. 6-seed North Florida, who holds first place with a two-day total of 563.
After starting the day +4 on the front nine, Green carded five birdies on the back nine to finish 1-under. Green's two-day total of Even-par 140 places him in a tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Sophomore Kaleb Wilson and junior Todd Duncan each shot an Even-par 70 on Tuesday, while senior Jackson Davenport carded a 1-over-par 71. Wilson holds a two-day score of +1 (141), Duncan is +3 (143) and Davenport is +6 (146).
The third round will begin Wednesday morning, with the Mountaineers teeing off on No. 1 beginning at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. local time). Live results will be available at golfstat.com.
