
Green Earns Big 12 Golfer of the Month Honors

| K-State's Carla Bernat and West Virginia's Max Green were named Big 12 Golfers of the Month for March. Bernat is the first Wildcat woman to receive the monthly award since the 2020-21 season while Green claims the first Big 12 Golfer of the Month honor for the Mountaineers in six seasons. Bernat garnered two top 3 finishes during the month at the MountainView Collegiate and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Earlier in the month, the kinesiology major tallied a 209 (-7) score to place third before she claimed the individual title at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic by six shots. Her score of 9-under-par 207 tied for the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history. The junior was at par or better in all six rounds of competition with a 69.33 stroke average and collected wins over eight ranked opponents in the top 30. Green procured a monthly stroke average of 69.5 en route to a second and fourth-place finish during the month. Dating back to February, he has placed within the top five in his last three tournaments. At the Schenkel Invitational, he shot 10-under-par 206 to earn runner-up. The junior studying sport management then finished fourth at the Hootie at Bulls Bay with a score of 211 (-5). He shot five of six rounds at par or better during March. |
