WVU Tied for Eighth Place After Day One

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team is tied for eighth place after 36 holes of competition at the Big 12 Golf Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.
The Mountaineers recorded rounds of 297-291 on the par-72 course. WVU is tied with Kansas State and Kansas at +12 in the 14-team championship. The group is one shot behind Texas Tech for seventh place. BYU is the only team under par in the field at 1-under-par.
Max Green led the Mountaineers with rounds of 74-72 (+2) and is tied for 20th place. Kaleb Wilson is tied for 35th place with rounds of 74-74 (+4). Jackson Davenport (80-71) and Todd Duncan (77-74) are tied for 48th place at 7-over-par. Pierce Grieve is one shot behind Davenport and Duncan after posting rounds of 72-80. Only eight golfers in the field are under par.
The third round will begin Tuesday morning with golfers playing 18 holes. The fourth and final round will take place on Wednesday morning.
