
WVU Set for Weekend Road Swing in Texas

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team (11-4, 1-1 Big 12) is set for its first Big 12 road swing of the season, as the Mountaineers travel to Texas for a pair of ranked matches against No. 59 Baylor and No. 14 Texas.
WVU will open this weekend's play on Friday, March 24, against the Bears in Waco. First serve from the Hurd Tennis Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers wrap up their weekend with a matchup against Texas on Sunday, March 26. Competition from the Texas Tennis Center in Austin is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET.

West Virginia and Baylor (10-9, 1-3 Big 12) will meet on the tennis court for the 11th time since joining the Big 12 on Friday. The Mountaineers are seeking their first-ever win against the Bears this weekend. During last year's competition, WVU dropped the match, 2-5. Baylor is coming off a 5-2 win against Denver on Tuesday, March 21.
The Mountaineers and the Longhorns (12-3, 3-1 Big 12) are set to meet for the 11th time on Sunday. WVU is also seeking its first-ever win against Texas. In its last meeting, Texas topped West Virginia, 7-0, in Morgantown, during the 2022 campaign.
The Mountaineers enter the weekend after closing out non-conference play against Dayton with a 7-0 sweep on Saturday, March 18, at the Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
