West Virginia Checks in at No. 51

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's tennis team (6-3, 0-0 Big 12) has been ranked No. 51 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Poll. This is the highest ranking in program history, as well as the first since the team was ranked No. 75 in 2016.
"This has been a long time coming for our team. I am very proud of our group of players and staff, putting in the work and finding ways to grow, improve and believe! This is a big program first and a big confirmation for the work we are doing," coach Miha Lisac said. "There is a lot of tennis ahead of us this spring, and we are looking forward to reaching more stepping stones."
So far this season, the Mountaineers have defeated Temple, Indiana, Northern Kentucky, Marshall, Mount St. Mary's and Radford.
Next up, West Virginia returns to Morgantown on Saturday, Feb. 25, to play host to Youngstown State at 10 a.m., and Morgan State at 3 p.m.
