
WVU Set for Weekend Road Swing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team (5-2, 0-0 Big 12) is back on the road this weekend for the third time this season to compete in a pair of dual matches. The Mountaineers travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, on Saturday, Feb. 18, to face Radford, before a matchup against Virginia Tech on Sunday, Feb. 19.
First serve against the Highlanders is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. WVU concludes the weekend with a matchup against the Hokies, where competition begins at 1 p.m., on Sunday. Both matches will take place at the Burrows-Burleson Indoor Tennis Center.

West Virginia is set to face-off against Radford for the first time since 1988, when Radford claimed the victory, 5-4. The Highlanders enter Saturday's competition with an overall record of 0-4, coming off a loss to East Carolina on Feb. 11.
Virginia Tech enters Sunday's competition with the all-time advantage over the Mountaineers, 20-4, since the series began in 1983. The Hokies (6-1, 0-0 ACC) enter Sunday afternoon's matchup after a 6-1 win against East Carolina on Feb. 12.
Last time out, the Mountaineers defeated in-state foe, Marshall, 4-3, on Feb. 10, before defeating Mount St. Mary's, 6-1, on Feb. 11, in Morgantown.
