MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons has unveiled the five tournaments that make up the 2022 fall tennis schedule on Thursday.
The Mountaineers begin their fall campaign this weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, for the Wahoowa Invitational at the Virginia Tennis Center at the Boar's Head Resort from Sept. 16-18.
WVU returns to the Mountain State to co-host Thunder in the Mountains alongside Marshall for the third time since 2019. The three-day tournament is scheduled to take place from Sept. 23-25, in Charleston, West Virginia. The Mountaineers and the Thundering Herd are set to welcome Cincinnati and VCU.
The following weekend, the preseason No.37-ranked doubles pair of sophomore Camilla Bossi and senior Ting-Pei Chang will travel to Cary, North Carolina, for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's All-American Championships, from Oct. 1-9. The tandem is the first pair in WVU program history to qualify for the tournament.
Up next, West Virginia is set to host the Martha Thorn Invitational from Oct. 7-9. The Mountaineers welcome Louisville, Maryland and Penn State to Morgantown for their annual fall tournament.
WVU then travels to Blacksburg, Virginia, from Oct. 20-24, for the ITA Women's Atlantic Regional Tournament, hosted by Virginia Tech.
The Mountaineers cap their fall season in Stillwater, Oklahoma, at the Big 12 Individual Championships from Nov. 4-6.
