Cluchey Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After earning a pair of first-place event finishes in the Mountaineers' home season opener, senior Chloe Cluchey of the West Virginia University gymnastics team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Woodbridge, Virginia, native matched her career-high score of 9.925 on floor exercise for the outright victory on Sunday. She has now won the event title in two meets this season and scored below 9.85 just once.
Cluchey also finished in a three-way tie for first on vault with a season-best mark of 9.8 and tied for 10th overall on uneven bars with a 9.675 total.
The Mountaineers swept their competition on Sunday with a season-high 196.025 showing. New Hampshire finished second (195.125) and Temple finished third (191.925). Included in WVU's score was a season-high 49.475 on floor.
