MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team used eight total wins, including a sweep of in-state foe Marshall in doubles play, to cap a strong first day at Thunder in the Mountains on Friday evening at the Schoenbaum Tennis Courts in Charleston, West Virginia.
"After a slower start this morning, we bounced back and had a better end to the day," WVU coach Miha Lisac said. "We will be looking to improve upon our performance throughout the weekend."
Doubles Recap
West Virginia began Friday's tournament opener in doubles play, taking on James Madison. Freshman Kat Lyman made her Mountaineer debut against the Dukes, pairing with senior Christina Jordan. The Mountaineer duo fell to Daniela Voloh and Michelle Los Acos, 3-6.
