WVU Continues to Rank on Vault, Floor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University gymnastics team is nationally ranked on vault and floor exercise in this week's Road to Nationals Rankings.
The Mountaineers (16-7, 0-4) rank No. 12 on floor exercise with a 49.24 National Qualifying Score (NQS). WVU also ranks No. 22 on vault with a 48.97 NQS.
WVU drops back two spots to No. 26 overall with an improved NQS of 195.635.
Individually, seniors Kirah Koshinski and Jaquie Tun own a combined three national rankings. Koshinski ranks No. 8 on vault (9.905 NQS) and No. 14 on floor (9.915 NQS), while Tun ranks No. 32 on floor (9.89 NQS).
Regionally, WVU continues to rank No. 3 in the Southeast. The Mountaineers also rank No. 3 on vault and floor, No. 4 on balance beam (48.76 NQS) and No. 5 on uneven bars (48.92 NQS).
Koshinski ranks as high as No. 2 regionally on vault. Tun and junior Abby Kaufman follow at No. 17 (9.78 NQS) and No. 22 (9.775 NQS), respectively.
Five Mountaineers are regionally ranked on floor, paced by Koshinski at No. 5. Tun ranks No. 8, and sophomore McKenna Linnen follows at No. 17 (9.83 NQS). Kaufman and junior Erica Fontaine rank No. 22 (9.81 NQS) and No. 24 (9.805 NQS), respectively.
Tun paces the Mountaineers on uneven bars and ranks No. 13 (9.825 NQS). Freshmen Esperanza Abarca and Kendra Combs follow at No. 17 (9.81 NQS) and No. 25 (9.775 NQS), respectively.
Freshman Rachel Hornung ranks No. 18 on balance beam (9.785 NQS), and Kaufman ranks No. 8 in the all-around (38.98 NQS).
The Mountaineers drop back to No. 4 this week in the Big 12 Conference. WVU ranks as high as No. 3 on floor exercise and is No. 4 on vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
