WVU Enters Postseason with Two Rankings

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University gymnastics team moves into the 2019 postseason with a pair of national rankings in this week's Road to Nationals Rankings.
The Mountaineers (19-9, 0-4) sit at No. 13 on floor exercise with a 49.28 National Qualifying Score (NQS). WVU also ranks No. 20 on vault with a 49.025 NQS.
WVU moves up one spot to No. 27 overall with an improved NQS of 195.84.
Senior Kirah Koshinski is nationally ranked on two events. The Berwick, Pennsylvania, native jumped to No. 6 on vault with an NQS of 9.925. She also ranks No. 23 on floor exercise with an NQS of 9.915.
Senior Jaquie Tun ranks No. 38 on floor exercise with a 9.895 NQS.
Regionally, the Mountaineers are tied with Maryland at No. 3 in the Southeast. WVU also ranks No. 3 on vault and floor exercise and No. 5 on uneven bars (48.94 NQS) and balance beam (48.83 NQS).
Koshinski ranks as high as No. 2 regionally on vault. Junior Abby Kaufman follows at No. 9 (9.81 NQS), and Tun sits at No. 21 (9.805 NQS).
Koshinski also ranks No. 6 on floor exercise, and Tun follows at No. 10. Sophomore McKenna Linnen joins the pair in the rankings and sits at No. 21 (9.84 NQS).
Tun paces the Mountaineers on uneven bars and ranks No. 12 (9.84 NQS). Freshmen Esperanza Abarca (9.81 NQS) and Kendra Combs (9.785 NQS) rank No. 19 and No. 24, respectively.
Freshman Rachel Hornung ranks a team-best No. 21 on balance beam with a 9.8 NQS. Koshinski follows at No. 23 (9.795 NQS).
Junior Abby Kaufman ranks No. 9 in the all-around with a 39.055 NQS.
The Mountaineers rank No. 4 overall in the Big 12 Conference. WVU ranks as high as No. 3 on floor exercise and sits at No. 4 on vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
Koshinski ranks No. 2 on vault and No. 5 on floor exercise. Kaufman ranks No. 7 in the all-around, and Tun ranks No. 8 on floor exercise.
WVU next competes at the 2019 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. EST, in Norman, Oklahoma. The meet will be broadcast on ESPNU.
