MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons has unveiled the five tournaments that will highlight the tennis schedule for the fall 2018.
"We're always looking forward to it; it's great competition," said sixth-year coach Miha Lisac. "We have very good tournaments that we're able to go to, travel to. At Florida State, a lot of great teams come down there. At Louisville, there's great competition as well. We have a solid lineup here for our home tournament. (ITA) Regionals are always tough, and the Virginia Tech Invite is a very good tournament as well."
"We're looking forward to measuring ourselves throughout the fall, and seeing where we are in the process of improving, getting better and aiming towards where we want to be in February, when we start the season."
West Virginia kicks off the fall season in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Hokie Fall Invite on Sept. 28-29.
Following a week off from competition, WVU will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia, to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regionals on Oct. 12-16.
The Mountaineers will then return to Morgantown on Oct. 19-21 to host the Martha Thorn Pink Invitational.
WVU caps the fall with back-to-back tournaments on the road. The Mountaineers will first travel to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Tennis Classic on Nov. 2-4. They then will wrap up fall play at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Florida on Nov. 9-11.
