
Gondrezick Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following her performance at the Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, The Bahamas, redshirt sophomore guard Kysre Gondrezick of the West Virginia University women's basketball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Gondrezick scored a WVU career-high 22 points and added six steals against No. 12 Iowa on Nov. 23, becoming the first Mountaineer to have at least six steals in a game since Chania Ray and Tynice Martin in Dec. 2016. The Benton Harbor, Michigan, native, averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 steals per game in WVU's two games at the Junkanoo Jam, which included an 81-39 win over Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 24, where Gondrezick tied for the team lead with 17 points. For her efforts, she earned all-tournament team honors.
West Virginia returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 2, when the Mountaineers host Missouri in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Tipoff at the WVU Coliseum is set for 5 p.m.
