The WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking hard-working, motivated and creative individuals to be part of its Digital Media team for the Spring 2017, Summer 2017 and Fall 2017 semesters. The department is looking for students who display a strong work ethic and an eye for creating new digital media initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Digital Media Manager in the oversight, production and management of content for West Virginia University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics’ multiple websites, microsites, video streaming, mobile and social medial platforms and overall digital information strategies
- Think creatively to develop innovative digital and social media information strategies to increase engagement with fans on a national level.
- Record and produce game-related video content to the various websites and social media platforms
- Produce, edit and/ or direct major components of web programming for WVUsports.com. Responsible for the production of features and programs; work includes concept development, scripting, videotaping (field and studio), editing, production-related arrangements and coordination of support
- Maintain a working knowledge and practical experience with all forms of cameras, switchers, audio systems, and desktop editing systems
- Maintain knowledge of current national trends and future trends to ensure the digital media division in athletics is operating at a high level
Qualifications
- Current WVU student
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
- Strong familiarity and understanding of popular social medial platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others)
- Must be well organized and prioritize efficiently with the ability to take initiative
- Must show the ability to be a team player
