Messerly Selected as CEFMA 1st Vice President

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The board members of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) have selected April Messerly, WVU’s Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, among its executive board for 2016-17.
This year, Messerly will serve as 1st Vice President after serving as the 2nd Vice President in 2015-16 and 3rdVice President in 2014-15. This is Messerly’s fourth year on the CEFMA Board of Directors.
Messerly joins Mike Penner (Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations at Ohio State) and Matt Oberlin (Director of Event Operations at UCF) as one of the three CEFMA Vice Presidents serving under President Mike Snyder (Director of Athletics at Illinois College).
“CEFMA is a wonderful organization to be a part of, and it continues to grow each year,” said Messerly. “I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors to help further the growth of this national organization in all regards.”
Messerly, entering her 17th year in the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, oversees the day-to-day operations for all of WVU’s athletic facilities, including Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium and the WVU Coliseum. She also serves as the Big 12 Conference game manager for WVU’s football and men’s basketball home games, works directly with the athletic department’s capital improvement projects and oversees all aspects of event management for WVU’s 18 varsity sports.
CEFMA is dedicated to the needs of collegiate level event and facility professionals and the challenges that exist within the scope of their responsibilities. CEFMA will seek to promote the growth, leadership, integrity and success of administrators and professional staff in collegiate athletics.
