WVU Athletic Communications Earns Awards

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Athletic Communications Office was honored earlier this month in Dallas at the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Workshop, capturing eight awards for Excellence in Publications. The eight publications awards WVU received from CoSIDA rank as the third-most earned among Division I schools.
The 2015 WVU football poster was judged as the best football poster in the nation, while WVU’s bowl guide cover for the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl earned best cover honors for a postseason guide.
The WVU gymnastics poster earned second in the nation in the winter/spring poster category, and the WVU women’s soccer poster was judged as third in the nation in the fall poster category. Also in the winter/spring poster category, WVU’s wrestling poster was eighth in the nation and the baseball poster was 10th in the nation.
The WVU women’s basketball guide earned third in the nation among women’s basketball guides, while WVU’s football game notes were judged as third in the nation among fall game notes.
The football hype video ‘All of The Lights’ took silver honors in the promotional video category of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) “Best Of” awards ceremony, also held earlier this month in Dallas. The award-winning video went viral on WVU football’s social media platforms prior to the 2015 home opener vs. Georgia Southern.
