MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s swimming and diving team has been named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its success in the classroom during the 2016 spring semester.
The Mountaineers earned a 3.34 cumulative GPA, the second-highest GPA among all women’s teams from the Big 12 Conference. WVU was named to the Scholar All-America Team for the 17th consecutive semester.
“Congratulations to our women's team for their hard work in the classroom,” said coach Vic Riggs. “This is their 17th consecutive semester earning this honor. I want to thank (Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Development) Jen Mandeville for all her hard work in keeping the women's team focused on this goal each year.”
The award recognizes college and university swimming and diving teams who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester. The complete list of CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams can be found at CSCAA.org.
