MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team returned to Associated Press Top 25 poll at No. 24 on Monday.
The Mountaineers (18-6, 7-4 Big 12) collected a pair of wins last week, which included a 69-42 victory at Texas Tech on Tuesday and a 64-44 win over Kansas State on Saturday.
This is the third week that West Virginia has appeared in the poll. The Mountaineers were ranked No. 25 on Jan. 18 and No. 24 on Jan. 25. WVU garnered 80 points for No. 24 and were four tallies behind No. 23 DePaul. There are four other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 4 Baylor, No. 6 Texas, No. 20 Oklahoma State and No. 21 Oklahoma.
The Mountaineers and Iowa State meet for the first time on Wednesday, Feb. 10, in a 7 p.m. tilt at the WVU Coliseum. West Virginia then hits the road to face the No. 20-ranked Cowgirls on Saturday, Feb. 13, in a 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT contest.
