WVU Begins Viking Invitational on Friday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team will travel to Cleveland, Ohio, to compete in the Viking Invitational from October 7-9.
“We are looking forward to getting back to competition this weekend,” fourth-year coach Miha Lisac said. “As a part of our preparation for the spring, we have to continue to put ourselves in competitive situations.”
Four teams will take part in the Viking Invitational: Cleveland State, Akron, Duquesne and West Virginia. All of the matches will take place in the newly constructed Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion on the campus of Cleveland State.
The Mountaineers are slated to open the weekend on Friday, at 9 a.m. ET, with a singles match against Akron. WVU will then face host Cleveland State and Duquesne in doubles matches at noon and 12:30 p.m. ET, respectively.
On Saturday, WVU will compete in two doubles and a singles match. The day begins at 1 p.m. ET with a doubles match against Duquesne.
West Virginia will complete day two with a singles match against Cleveland State at 2 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers close out the tournament with a singles and doubles match on Sunday. First the squad will take on Duquesne in a singles match at 9 a.m. ET, followed by a doubles match against Cleveland State at noon.
