MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s swimming and diving team has been named a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its success in the classroom during the fall semester.
The Mountaineers received a 3.27 cumulative GPA and were one of the three women’s teams from the Big 12 Conference to earn the honor. WVU was named to the Scholar All-America Team for the 16th consecutive semester.
“The team knows this is an expectation when they come here and for them to earn this for the 16th consecutive semester is a tremendous accomplishment,” said coach Vic Riggs. “It shows our desire to excel in the classroom as it’s passed down from team to team, which means a lot to our program.”
The award recognizes college and university swimming and diving teams who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester. The complete list of CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams can be found at CSCAA.org.
