MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rowing team traveled to Bloomington, Indiana, for a scrimmage on Lake Lemon against the Hoosiers, as both teams competed in a number of different pieces on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.
“The emphasis of today’s race was strictly to compete. This weekend’s competition was very valuable for our team, as we continue to assess and prepare for our key races later in the season,” said coach Jimmy King.
No official results were kept, but the West Virginia crews had a good workout on the water with excellent conditions. The lineups for the first, second and third varsity boats were changed throughout, as the team works towards the competitive season later this month.
The Mountaineers return to the water next weekend, as the team travels to West Windsor Township, New Jersey, for the Knecht Cup Regatta on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12.
