Track on Road for Mason Spring Invite

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team travels to Fairfax, Virginia, this Saturday, April 11, for the Mason Spring Invitational hosted by George Mason University.
The field events will open competition at 10 a.m., while the running events will get underway at noon.
This marks the third weekend of competition for the Mountaineers during the outdoor season. West Virginia will be on the track for four more weekends leading up to the Big 12 Outdoor Championships from May 15-17.
Last weekend, some of the individual highlights included a first-place finish from freshman Millie Paladino in her first-career appearance in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:13.83 at the Ohio Cherry Blossom Invitational. Senior Kailtyn Gillespie participated at the Stanford Invitational in her first action on the track since the 2012-13 season. Gillespie raced to fourth place in section two of the 5,000-meter run in a career-best time of 16:00.27.
Participating schools this weekend include American, Boston, Columbia, Dartmouth, Georgetown, James Madison, Navy, Penn, Radford, Robert Morris, Temple, VCU and William & Mary.
