Master Sergeant Brian Jarvis, a lifelong Mountaineer fan, came out to cheer on West Virginia University at the Phillips 66 Women's Basketball Championship in Dallas last weekend.
Jarvis, a native of Van, West Virginia, has served in the military the past 29 years. Currently, he is stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, which is a little over two hours away from Dallas.
He cheered on the team in uniform on Friday against Texas Tech and Saturday against Oklahoma. After Saturday's loss, Jarvis was greeted one-by-one by each member of the women's basketball team.
“The best part about this picture is the fact that these ladies just suffered a loss," noted Jarvis on his Facebook page. "Yet before the photo, each and every one of them came up to me individually to say “thanks” for serving and for being there! I was thanking them for allowing me to be there! And those smiles! That’s Teamwork! That’s Honor! That's the Mountaineers Y'all!”
