The Mountaineers (20-14) recorded their ninth 20-win season under coach Mike Carey with a 57-39 victory over Hampton on Tuesday. The winner of Thursday’s contest will play the winner of St. John’s/Villanova later this weekend.
General admission tickets are $7, while youth tickets are $4. WVU students and Carey’s Crew members receive free admission courtesy of United Bank. A valid student ID or Carey’s Crew membership card must be shown to receive the free ticket.

A live video stream will be provided at WVUsports.com. Jeff Culhane and Meg Bulger will have the call on the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG. Fans can listen on various affiliates across the state, online at WVUsports.com or via the TuneIn Radio app.
WVU has won 15 straight games over non-conference foes inside the Coliseum. With a victory on Thursday, the Mountaineers can tie a single-season record of 17 home victories set during the 2009-10 campaign.
All-America candidate Bria Holmes continues to pace the Mountaineers with 19.0 points per game. Her 646 points this season is the most ever by a West Virginia junior. On Wednesday, Holmes garnered All-Region 5 honors from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
Averee Fields is second on the team with 13.1 points per game, while Lanay Montgomery leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Montgomery’s 3.3 blocks per contest ranks 10th nationally.
Duquesne and West Virginia meet for the 47th time on Thursday. The Mountaineers own a 37-9 edge in the all-time series and won the previous meeting earlier this year, 79-60, on December 10. Holmes scored 27 points, while Fields added 20 in the victory.
“We did some good things and did some bad things,” said Carey referencing the last meeting in December. “I think we’re a little bit better team now than what we were earlier in the year. Duquesne is a better team than what they were earlier in the year. They always play us tough. I look for it to be a tough game.”
The Dukes (23-10) have won four out of their last five games, including a 48-47 win over Richmond on Tuesday. Duquesne averages 69.9 points per game, while surrendering 62.5 points per contest to opponents. Duquesne’s 16.1 assists per game ranks 21st in the NCAA.
Junior guard April Robinson leads the Dukes with 13.7 points and 4.8 assists per game. Amadea Szamosi and Deva’Nya Workman round out double-figure scoring with 10.6 and 10.3 points, respectively.
