Tickets for WNIT Second Round on Sale

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Tickets to West Virginia University women’s basketball’s WNIT second round matchup with Hampton on Tuesday, March 24, are on sale now.
Tipoff for Tuesday’s contest is set for 7 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum. General admission tickets are $7, while youth tickets are $4. Carey’s Crew members receive free admission courtesy of United Bank, while students are also free. A valid student ID or Carey’s Crew membership card must be shown to receive the free ticket. The first 100 Carey’s Crew members in attendance will receive free pizza from Papa John’s.
A discounted group rate of $4 is available, but must be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets, visit WVUGAME.com or call 1-800-WVU GAME. Flex plan tickets cannot be redeemed for WNIT games. Season ticket holders can purchase their same reserved seats by calling the Mountaineer Ticket Office at 1-800-WVU GAME before 5 p.m. on Monday, March 23.
West Virginia and Hampton meet for the second time on Tuesday. The two programs last met on November 24, 1979, where the Mountaineers came out victorious, 90-78, at the Morgan State Invitational in Baltimore.
Hampton (19-12) won its fifth consecutive regular-season Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title with 14-2 mark in regular season play. The Lady Pirates’ eight-game win streak was snapped with a 52-50 loss to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the MEAC Tournament quarterfinals. Hampton bounced back with a 45-42 win at Drexel in the opening round of the WNIT.
West Virginia (19-14) is on the verge of clinching its ninth 20-win season under coach Mike Carey. The Mountaineers cruised to an 84-61 win over Buffalo in the opening round of the WNIT. West Virginia holds an impressive 15-3 mark at home this season and have won 14 straight against non-conference opponents dating back to the 2013-14 campaign.
