MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team returns to the track this weekend for the Akron Invitational in Akron, Ohio, from Feb. 6-7.
The action will get underway on Friday at 3 p.m. with the discus events. Saturday’s action will begin at 10 a.m. with the 3,000 meters.
The Mountaineers competed at the Thundering Herd Invitational in their most recent competition last weekend. Three West Virginia student-athletes recorded first-place finishes.
Marsielle McBeam highlighted the action with her second first-place finish in the high jump in as many weekends. McBeam’s leap of 1.70 meters tied a season high.
West Virginia is in the middle of a stretch of eight straight weekends of competition leading up to the Big 12 Indoor Championships from Feb. 27-28.
