MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) 2015 Annual Fund Campaign is off to a great start since its giving year began on December 1, 2014. Previous annual fund donors who have not yet renewed their support can anticipate receiving their MAC donor handbook and renewal statement in the mail within the coming week.
The fundraising arm of the West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the MAC ensures that WVU retains its position as one of the nation’s premier athletic programs. Entrusted with supporting the current and future success of WVU’s 475 student-athletes, MAC annual fund donations support many areas, including student-athlete scholarships, academic support, training and nutrition, facility enhancements and travel assistance.
Mountaineer fans are encouraged to help the MAC advance scholarship and build champions through individual and corporate contributions. In return for a gift, annual fund donations provide donors with the opportunity to purchase priority season tickets, parking passes, single game tickets and postseason tickets. Additionally, sport-specific giving also is an option, allowing donors to provide direct support to the WVU Athletics program of their choice.
Supporting WVU Athletics through the MAC is now easier than ever before. Donors can renew at their previous annual giving level, participate in the 112% program or step up to the next giving level via either a one-time payment or through a three-month installment plan.
All annual funds and priority seating related gifts are due by the May 1 priority deadline.
The donor handbook provides current and future MAC supporters a look at how their donation helps enhance and impact the lives of all 475 WVU student-athletes. An intricate breakdown of areas of support is provided, as well as information on membership benefits and ways to support.
The 2014-15 athletic year already has been an exciting adventure for the Mountaineers, as the football team advanced to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the men’s and women’s basketball teams earned national rankings, and the women’s soccer team successfully defended its Big 12 Conference regular-season and championship titles. Additionally, Shane Lyons was named the University’s 12th director of athletics in January.
“There are a lot of exciting things in store for WVU Athletics in 2015,” said Matt Borman, WVU Senior Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of the Mountaineer Athletic Club. “The Mountaineer Athletic Club will take advantage of the positive momentum and continue to share all the wonderful ways our donors can support our student-athletes. It is a priority for the MAC this year to get as many WVU fans as possible involved. Fans and alums can start making an impact with a $100 donation. We want all our donors to feel a sense of pride in our program and know that every single gift makes a difference.”
The 2015 MAC Donor Handbook and annual giving form are now available. To learn more about the MAC or to make a gift, Mountaineer fans can visit MountaineerAthleticClub.com. Fans who wish to support the MAC can call 1-800-433-2072.
Each and every gift is guaranteed to have a positive effect on the current and future success of WVU Athletics and allows WVU student-athletes the opportunity to proudly say, “I’m a Mountaineer.”
