Duo Named to Canadian Roster

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer sophomores Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence have been named to the Canadian Women’s National Team roster for China’s Four Nations Tournament.

The team opens competition on Saturday, January 11, against Korea Republic, and will face Mexico on January 13. The squad’s third game is against China on January 15. All three games will take place at the Shenzhen Stadium in Shenzhen, China.

The matches are part of Canada’s preparation for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada.

Buchanan, a defender from Brampton, Ontario, and Lawrence, a midfielder out of Toronto, Ontario, have been fixtures on the national team as of late, most recently seeing action in a pair of close-door matches against Sweden in November. The two-time reigning Canadian U-20 Player of the Year, Buchanan has made 26 appearances with the full national team.
