MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team is back in action this weekend at the Thundering Herd Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia, from Jan. 30-31.
The action will begin on Friday, at 6 p.m., and will continue on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
WVU is fresh off the YSU College Invitational on Friday, Jan. 23, in Youngstown, Ohio. Three Mountaineers recorded first-place finishes, including Marsielle McBeam who placed first in the high jump in her first action of the season.
McBeam’s jump of 1.70 meters was her best mark since the 2014 Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
Friday will mark the first time West Virginia has competed at the Jeff Small Track in the Chris Cline Athletic Complex as it is in its first year of operation.
