Rifle No. 1 Before Road Trip

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The West Virginia University rifle team continues to rank No. 1 in this week’s College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll.
Today's rankings are based on the three highest scores shot by each team in three different ranges.
The Mountaineers boast a 4710 average and shot their three highest scores at the WVU Rifle Range vs. Memphis (4718), at Army (4717) and at Ohio State (4695).
Alaska-Fairbanks, the Mountaineers’ next opponent, is No. 2 on this week’s poll with a 4703.33 average.
TCU and Kentucky follow in the No. 3 and 4 spots with 4685.33 and 4684.33 averages, respectively, and Air Force ranks No. 5 with a 4679 average.
Jacksonville, Nebraska, Murray State, Ohio State and Memphis complete the Top 10 this week.
The Mountaineers (9-0, 7-0 GARC) travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, to take on the Nanooks in two head-to-head matches this weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range.
