MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team maintains its No. 13 ranking in today’s TopDrawerSoccer.com Division I Women’s Top 25 Poll.
The Mountaineers (4-2) steady ranking comes on the heels of a 2-0 showing over the weekend at the WVU 90 Minute Classic at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
WVU is one of three Big 12 Conference schools in today’s ranking, with Texas Tech (5-0) sitting at No. 8 and Kansas (6-0) checking in at No. 22.
Defending National Champion UCLA (5-0-1) continues to rank No. 1, while Virginia (5-0) is up one spot to No. 2 and Virginia Tech (6-0) is up two spots to No. 3. Stanford (4-0-1) and Florida State (4-1) rank No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
The Mountaineers continue their eight-match homestand this weekend with a pair of games. WVU faces No. 18-ranked Georgetown (3-2-1) on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., and Duquesne (1-1-2) on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.
The first 200 Mountaineer Maniacs who attend Friday’s match will receive a women’s soccer fan shirt. All fans in attendance on Sunday will be able to meet the team for autographs following the competition.
