Towson brings an 0-1 record into Morgantown after dropping its season opener to Central Connecticut State last Saturday. West Virginia is also 0-1 after last Saturday’s loss to second-ranked Alabama in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.
Saturday’s Towson game will be televised locally on Root Sports and can also be heard on Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG affiliates throughout the state as well as nationally on Sirius/XM satellite radio and online through leanStream and TuneIn.

10 – The Mountaineers have won TEN straight home openers dating back to 2003 when WVU lost 24-17 to 21st-ranked Wisconsin.
9 – Wide receiver Kevin White produced a career-high NINE catches against Alabama for a career-best 143 yards. It was only the second 100-yard receiving game of is career.
8 – Five Mountaineer defenders produced EIGHT or more tackles against Alabama last Saturday, including a game-high 18 from junior safety Karl Joseph. Linebacker Nick Kwiatkowski and corner Daryl Worley added 11 stops each.
7 – Marion Alford’s 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Alabama last Saturday was the seventh time since 1997 that a Mountaineer player has produced a 100-yard return for a score. Nate Terry did it twice in 1997, Shawn Terry did it in 2000 and 2001, and Tavon Austin had two in 2011 and 2012.
6 – West Virginia has SIX players that have played in at least 28 career games, including team leader Travis Bells’ 40 career games played.
5 – Jordan Thompson produced a career-high FIVE receptions during last Saturday’s game against Alabama. Thompson had five catches for 62 yards, including a career long 32-yard reception in the third quarter.
4 – West Virginia has won all FOUR of its home openers this decade. Last year the Mountaineers defeated William & Mary 24-17 to lift the lid on the 2013 season.
3 – Today’s game with Towson is one of THREE non-conference opponents West Virginia is playing this year. The final non-conference game of the season takes place next weekend in College Park, Md., when the Mountaineers play Big Ten rival Maryland.
2 – TWO true freshmen saw action during last Saturday’s season opener against Alabama: safety Dravon Henry and linebacker Xavier Preston.
1 – Elijah Wellman and Shelton Gibson recorded their FIRST career receptions during last Saturday’s game against Alabama. A total of seven different players caught passes against the Crimson Tide.
