The Sooners are off to a 3-0 start with impressive victories over Louisiana Tech, Tulsa and Tennessee, while West Virginia is 2-1 after back-to-back wins over Towson and Maryland following its season-opening loss to Alabama in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.
Oklahoma got 308 yards through the air from quarterback Trevor Knight in the Sooners’ 34-10 victory over Tennessee last Saturday. West Virginia, meanwhile, got 511 yards and four touchdowns through the air from senior quarterback Clint Trickett in West Virginia’s 40-37 triumph at Maryland.
Trickett’s 511 yards passing were the most ever by a WVU quarterback on the road. After three games West Virginia is fifth in the country in passing offense and 13th in total offense.
Oklahoma enters Saturday’s game ranked eighth in the country in scoring defense and 19th in total defense.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on FOX. The Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG’s coverage begins at 4 p.m. with the Mountaineer Tailgate Show. This week’s Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG game broadcast will be carried on Sirius/XM, channel 138 (Sirius) and channel 199 (XM).

10 – Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski produced a career-high TEN solo tackles during last Saturday’s 40-37 win at Maryland. The junior leads the team with 24 totals tackles and three tackles for losses.
9 – West Virginia has had NINE sustained scoring drives of NINE plays or longer so far this year, including five drives of 10 plays or more.
8 – Clint Trickett has completed EIGHT pass of 32 yards or longer so far this year, including four of 42 yards or longer.
7 – The Sooners are bringing a SEVEN-game winning streak into Morgantown for tonight’s game. That is currently the second longest active winning streak in the country right now.
6 – Last Saturday’s game against Maryland represented the SIXTH time under coach Dana Holgorsen that West Virginia has had at least 90 offensive plays in a football game.
5 – West Virginia is currently ranked FIFTH in the country in passing averaging 410.3 yards per game.
4 –Senior Kevin White had his FOURTH career 100-yard receiving game with last Saturday’s 215-yard performance at Maryland. White has had 100-yard receiving efforts in all three games so far this year.
3 – West Virginia’s 88 first downs through its first THREE games are the most in school history.
2 – Oklahoma has managed to produce TWO more first downs than West Virginia in each of its last two games in 2013 and 2012. In last year’s game the Sooners had a 21-19 edge in first downs and two years ago in Morgantown, the margin was 32-30.
1 – Clint Trickett ranks FIRST in WVU history in single-game passing yardage in a road game following his 511-yard performance at Maryland last weekend. That also represents the second-best passing effort in school history.
